Mission Statement: Seeking to put God's love into action, Beaches Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Beaches Habitat for Humanity serves Eastern Duval County, including the three Jacksonville Beaches communities. Families and individuals partner with us to build or improve a place they can call home, homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. We also provide home repairs for seniors and veterans in our community, helping them stay safely in the homes they already have. On top of that, we offer educational programs to promote academic achievement among our homeowners and their families. Through financial support, volunteering, and advocacy for affordable housing, everyone can help families build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower.
Beaches Habitat also runs the Scheidel Prep Club Program, which supports the children of our homeowners from 6th grade through high school graduation. Students earn money based on their grades and attendance, split between funds they can use right away and a savings account they manage themselves, along with one-on-one college prep guidance and mentorship. We also offer the Scheidel Scholarship Program, giving homeowners and their children access to scholarships at the University of North Florida and Florida State College at Jacksonville.
