A native of Jacksonville, Damon was a high school math teacher for many years before moving to the world of finance. With a degree in banking and finance from the University of North Florida, he first worked at three other Jacksonville-area banks as a specialist in commercial, industrial and commercial real estate lending. He joined Synovus in 2003, initially as president of Synovus Bank of Jacksonville. In 2009 he was appointed chief executive officer of Synovus’s Northeast Florida division, which includes both Synovus Bank of Jacksonville and First Coast Community Bank. Damon is responsible for our client services and financial operations, with a focus on business banking and wealth management. Out of the office, he enjoys “golf, coaching children’s sports, golf, family, golf, reading and golf.” He is a recent grandfather.
